Q: What advantages are there in House and Animal Sitting?
A:
This type of care has many advantages over standard kennel boarding. First, pet sitting allows the pet to stay in their own environment which maintains natural sleep, eating, and exercise routines. Second, your house retains that 'lived in" look. Third, it prevents the stress that car rides to the vet can create as well as lessening anxiety from being away from both owner and home.
Q: How much experience do you have and are references available?
A:
I have over 8 years experience in house and pet sitting. I also have worked at a couple of vet hospitals over 7 years, which increased my pet care knowledge dramatically.
Any of my clients would be happy to give you references so please do not hesitate to ask for them.
Q: What happens during a first consultation visit?
A:
This free courtesy visit is for me to get used to you and your pet's routine. All of the important information is gone over during this time such as care times, locations of food, leashes, key pick up etc.
We will go over my Standard Care, Vet Information, and Release Forms at this time as well. This visit gives me the chance to find out what makes your pet(s) the most happy and it is your time to ask me any questions you might have.
Q: Are there any special charges for holidays?
A:
Happy Tails differs from a number of other house sitting companys in that we do not charge extra for holidays. It is a stressful enough time without having extra fees tacked on to your pet's regular care. My time however does get book up quickly, so it is important to schedule me well in advance to book your pet's care.
Please note that
I do not usually take new customers around holiday dates. I have found that it does not leave enough time for me to care for my regular client's pets so if you are interested in holiday care, you need to be aware that I will have needed to have cared for your pet(s) at least one other non-holiday time before.
Q: Cancellation policy?
A:
Generally, if you give me enough notice before a scheduled sitting has started, I am flexible with cancellation and there will be no charge. However, if cancellation becomes frequent, my policy is that 50% amount that was originally scheduled will need to be paid if my services are not needed. In addition, if your trip is cut shorter than you were originally planning while my services are already being used, again, 50% of what would have been paid, will be used to cover the cancellation of services.
